Greenfield Dragway is a grassroots quarter mile drag racing facility in Greenfield, Nova Scotia, Canada, built on a 3,937-foot paved runway that doubles as part of the South Shore Regional Airport during the off-season. The strip is owned by the Region of Queens Municipality and operated by the volunteer-based Nova Scotia Drag Racers Association (NSDRA), which organizes race weekends throughout the spring and summer months.
Greenfield Dragway opened for competition in August of 2003, making that year’s season one of its first with organized racing action in the Southwest region of the Maritimes, and it has been in operation continuously since then as a hub for local racers and fans. Over the years it has grown in reputation within Atlantic Canada’s motorsports scene, hosting a variety of racing classes including Super Pro, Sportsman, Jr. Dragster, and Bike/Sled categories. While also hosting travelling series such as Atlantic Canadian Stock Superstock series, Atlantic Pro Tree series. Atlantic Drag Racing Association races and the home grown Quick 660 series.
Seasonal race weekends typically span three days — Friday through Sunday — from late May through September, featuring competitive eliminations, bracket racing, time trials. The facility provides amenities such as concessions, washrooms, overnight trailer parking, and viewing areas.
A significant recent milestone for the track occurred in December 2025, when Greenfield Dragway was welcomed into the NHRA Member Track Network as part of the National Hot Rod Association’s Northeast Division.
Today Greenfield Dragway remains a cornerstone of grassroots motorsport in the region, attracting racers and spectators alike for thrilling quarter mile and eighth-mile action along with a community-oriented racing culture. Greenfield Dragway also continues run with a strictly volunteer based group of directors and volunteers who do everything from set up, tear down and everything in between that is needed to keep Greenfield Dragway running all year around. Greenfield Dragway also prides itself in its youth, developing racers from the junior dragster ranks to “big car” class champions, this also includes having many youth involved in volunteering and learning all aspects of working as a team along with learning the sport of drag racing.
