Winners Crowned in Reading, Biondo Gaines 50th National Victory

Multiple winners were recognized today as the NHRA Keystone Nationals concluded at Maple Grove Raceway after rain delays over the weekend. Winners were recognized in Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car, Comp Eliminator, Stock, Super Comp and the rest of the classes that encompass the nationwide series.

In the Top Alcohol Dragster final round the audience witnessed Jackie Fricke, Flemington, N.J., chase down Chris Demke, Sunland, Calif., for the winning light. Fricke registered a victory pass of 5.263 seconds, 278.92 mph to Demke’s 8.594 seconds, 97.72 mph. This is Fricke’s first National event Wally trophy in her second final round appearance.

Andy Bohl, Racine, Wis., was able to outlast Sean Bellemeur of Placentia, Calif., in the Top Alcohol Funny Car finale. Bohl made a victory pass of 5.579, 267.06 besting Bellemeur’s 5.514, 268.60.

In a  battle of New Yorkers during the Stock Eliminator final round, Peter Biondo, Maspeth, N.Y., scored his 50th National victory, running 10.352, 114.82 to defeat Michael Ianoco, Wading River N.Y., 10.524, 118.63. Ianoco was looking for the double.

Despite placing runner-up in the Stock Eliminator final round, Michael Ianoco was able to bring the Super Stock trophy back to New York. Ianoco ran 9.958, 130.64 to  defeat Carroll Morris, Manchester Md., 10.073, 130.56.

Hometown fans were excited to see fellow Pennsylvanians Amanda Boicesco, Warminster Pa., Jack Sepanek Jr., Moosic, Pa., compete in the Super Comp final round. Amanda faced little resistance marking a run at 8.902, 179.23, as Sepanek fouled at the line.

In Comp Eliminator, Al Ackerman, Saddle Brook, N.J., put together a winning run, gaining the starting line advantage and running 7.881, 168.98 defeating Joe Carnasciale, Cranston R.I., 8.890, 150.55.

Craig Porter rounded out the list of winners taking home the trophy in Super Gas as he knocked off Edward Alessi Jr. in Super Gas.

Top Alcohol Funny Car
Andy Bohl, Chevy Camaro, 5.579, 267.06 def. Sean Bellemeur, Chevy Camaro, 5.514, 268.60.

Comp Eliminator
Al Ackerman, Dragster, 7.881, 168.98  def. Joe Carnasciale, Chevy Cavalier, 8.890, 150.55.

Super Stock
Michael Iacono, Chevy Camaro, 9.958, 130.64  def. Carroll Morris, Ford Mustang, 10.073, 130.56.

Stock Eliminator
Peter Biondo, Chevy Camaro, 10.352, 114.82  def. Michael Iacono, Camaro, 10.524, 118.63.

Super Comp
Amanda Boicesco, Dragster, 8.902, 179.23  def. Jack Sepanek Jr., Dragster, Foul - Red Light.
