Mid Atlantic Super Comp Association News

January 04, 2012

The Mid Atlantic Super Comp Association (MASCA) will kick off its 3rd full season at Joe Sway’s Atco Raceway on April 28th & 29th, 2012. This event will be a great Test & Tune Session for anyone who would like to run the NHRA PC Richards National Open the following weekend at the same facility. The next 2 events on the schedule will see the series visiting Maple Grove Raceway for the "3rd Annual Sportsman Circuit Shootout" on May 19th & 20th. To help on travel cost and gas this event falls the weekend before the annual Lucas Oil NHRA Division 1 Event. The series then returns back to Atco Raceway for the final 2 weekends of the 2012 season. The first date will be on July 7th & 8th for the 1st annual MASCA Big Bash BBQ held on Saturday Night. MASCA will then close out the season and crown their champions on Sept 29th & 30th which is the weekend before the NHRA Uni-Select Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway.

For the 2012 season MASCA will welcome a few new sponsors to the mix as Bushwacker Truck Accessories, Auto Meter Competition Products & K&N Filters have signed on for the up-coming season. MASCA will offer 2 races on each weekend of competition and offer a year end points fund that is paid out to the Top 5 racers of the series at years end. The fee to become a yearly member is $70.00 and this will include a free T-Shirt, 2 Stickers & 2 Free Entries into our Annual Banquet held in 2013. There is also an added bonus to become a member as in 2012 as the "MASCA Membership Fund" has been established. Thanks to sponsorship from Aqua-Terra Environmental Services all MASCA members will receive an added "Bonus" for winning or runner-upping at an Event in 2012. Details are still in the works and will be released to all members at the MASCA Banquet in February.

The fee to enter each MASCA Event is $70.00 that is to be paid to Rob Keister at his trailer along with the gate fee that is to be paid to the track when entering. Based on a 32 car field the payout to the winners will be $1,000. All competitors are able to get 2 qualifying attempts on both days of each event but, if time is running short qualifying may be cut to 1 time run. After qualifying is complete you will be placed on a true NHRA sportsman ladder with the higher qualified car receiving lane choice for 1st round only. For any questions on MASCA please e-mail Rob Keister at [email protected] or call him at 1-856-332-2851.
