Fourth Federal-Mogul Race of 2001 in the

Northeast Division Series

After a weekend of perfect racing weather at Lebanon Valley Dragway the rains came minutes after the final pair of Super Stock cars made it down the track. Six-time Federal-Mogul Funny Car National Champion Frank Manzo of Morganville, N.J., got his first divisional win of the season and the defending NHRA Southeast Division Federal-Mogul Dragster champion, Michael Gunderson of Middleburg, Fla., collected his second win of the year at the fourth stop on the NHRA Northeast Division tour.

Other winners include: Jim Pursglove of Westmont, N.J., in Comp, Lincoln Morehead of Newburg, N.Y., in Super Stock, Lee Zane of Pittsgrove, N.J., in Stock, John DiBartolomeo of Lambertville, N.J. in Super Comp, Raymond Sawyer of Acton, Mass., in Super Gas and Larry Willard of Leominster, Mass., in Super Street.

Saturday brought us beautiful weather and a great day of racing. Jam packed action from 9:00 am through 6:00 pm when we had to close down and participate in the racer barbecue. All the racers gathered for some fun and bench racing and just a good old time! Thanks to Chuck and Deb Rothermel, Eddie Iannoti and Lynn Hosigian, along with their crew and the great folks here at Lebanon Valley Dragway, and the Barletta family. We can not forget to thank Tom Wager, Mr Hankie, JR and Dogger for the great work they did with the track preperations.

Friday morning, July 6, 2001. 11:00 am and things have begun to take shape here at a jam packed event in NY. Cloudy and cool, overcast sky, temp about 65 degrees. Turning cool for the Friday night extravaganza here at the Valley. With the final runs getting called due to curfew and a cool temp about 50 degrees, the Top 8 races spilt the win and the finals of some of the Stock & Super Stock Classes were cancelled.
